GAMES CONSOLE MAKER Microsoft’s Xbox One games console might have got off to a shaky start, with the firm having made a number of U-turns to appease potential buyers, but it’s likely to be the number one best-selling console in the UK this Christmas.

Release date
Microsoft has announced that its Xbox One will go on sale on 22 November, a week ahead of the Sony PS4’s release date. It will make its debut in 13 initial markets, which are: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and USA.

While it hasn’t announced a release date, Microsoft has revealed pricing details, having announced that its Xbox One will cost £429 in the UK. While this is more expensive than the PS4, which is priced at £349, Microsoft will bundle a Kinect with the Xbox One, whereas PS4 users will have to buy the Playstation Camera accessory separately.

For those looking to buy additional controllers for their Xbox One, is offering a wired controller for £44.99 and a wireless one for £59.99.

It’s likely that Xbox One buyers will be able to get their hands on the Xbox One console from day one, as Microsoft hasn’t revealed preorder sales figures.

However Sony has said that it has sold millions of PS4s already, with preorders in the UK having already sold out, meaning that buyers might struggle to get hold of the Sony console.
